Difference Between Herbivores and Carnivores

Herbivores

Herbivores are the animals, which are depend on plants and grass for their food. They have certain specific features that help them feed on plants. They have broad and flat teeth that help them to grind the plants easily. They have the capacity of detoxifying vitamin A in the liver. They possess carbohydrate digestive enzymes in saliva. The length of the intestine is very long. Cows, buffaloes, goats, deer are some of the herbivores.

Carnivores

Carnivores are animals and plants that only consume meat. They hunt down other animals and eat their flesh while some prefer devouring them whole. Carnivores have very sharp teeth that they use to tear through skin and meat with ease. They also have very sharp claws, since this helps them latch on to their prey and also to take the carcasses apart. Omnivore

An omnivore is an animal that has the ability to eat and survive on both plant and animal matter. They obtaining energy and nutrients from plant and animal matter, omnivores digest carbohydrates, protein, fat, and fiber, and metabolize the nutrients and energy of the sources absorbed. Often, they have the ability to incorporate food sources such as algae, fungi, and bacteria into their diet. Ex: Dogs, Bear and Badgers.

Difference Between Herbivores and Carnivores
